What to Do in LA On The Weekend When You’re Broke AF

So the weekend is here but rent, the car note, and every kind of insurance was also just due. However, you’ll be damned if you sit another minute in the four walls you pay to live in- I feel you.

And for my broke besties out there with little’s one’s, these options are kid friendly too!

So let’s talk about what to do when your broke “A(s)-(un)Fairly” possible in one of the biggest cities in the United States.

Sure LA is fun when your rolling in extra cash but let’s be real- a lot of us are somewhere around paycheck to paycheck. So we definitely could use some ideas without the BS blogs naming the hottest bar as the thing to do in LA.

So what do you do when you’re on the verge of yet another ramen night and subsequent routine break down?

How do you go out and not spend a single effing dollar.

And I mean no money spent. Not one cocktail, appetizer, or pointless dollar cookie you decide to save later and never eat.

That means pack up the ramen and the extra ice water, and head to the car. Yes- even solo if you have to.

Our only expense is the gas it takes to get there. (Ouch)

So let’s get our first cliche/ obvious option out of the way- and if you live anywhere near LA, then my Cali homies you already know where I am going with this.

Yes its the touristy coasts.

La is filled with them and I won’t waist your time with the one you should head too- because we all have our preference. But wherever is your favorite- it’s time to pack-up.

But before we move on- there is a trick to this.

Don’t you dare comment “but the parking”. Yes you can find a place to park and walk. But you’ll have to go the extra mile- literally.

Just remember friend’s, with all joy comes a little work. So change up your weekend routine. Don’t complain about having nothing to do with out adding a little je ne sais quoi to your weekend line up. Even if that means visiting the places you’ve sworn to avoid.

So pack up your lunch box (and maybe a scooter) and head to the sandy coasts.

Because this weekend at hot new bombshell enters the villa.

Now that we have our most obvious so-cal touristy thing out of the way, let me help you out with a few other places to mingle without a jingle (get it?).

Another option near Venice beach- and no its not the boardwalk you don’t have to rush to close the article just yet.

It’s the Venice Canals

Yes friends, you too can strut down the canal as if you live a life of luxury- FOR THE FREE.

So pack up your little fur friend, headphones and your lunch for your car ride and head on over to take a beautiful stroll for the streets that make up the quaint corner of the Venice canals. The architecture, small canals and quiet streets will refresh your mind.

If you aren’t feeling like heading to anywhere near the beach- don’t worry I even have options for you too (cost free).

We all know about Runyon Canyon.

Yes, it’s another people filled, physical hard work required location (but you can do it- I believe in you). And who know’s what celebrity you’ll meet along your hike up the famous trail.

If you aren’t feeling the walk- I get you. Let’s move on to our next option

The Griffith Observatory

And yes, going inside is 100 percent free. Parking at the observatory does have fees however as with anything in LA a little walk can help you avoid that.

There are always other options that are completely free. However, these will help you avoid walking past that shopping center that turns into a “lets just look to spending unnecessary funds.”
