My favorite from this list this week is 'The Little Mermaid' Remake is Right on Race... but Still Not Quite Right for Me by Savala Nolan. Its a powerful piece that puts so much into perspective. A lot of us have heard about the qualms of disney princesses but sometimes we need a reminder on what these famous songs and movies are reinforcing. Race should be the least of anyone's concern, what about the negative ideals were pushing on young women and girls. Savala Nolan touched on it all, i've re- read this piece a few times now 👏🏽
