D23 Expectations vs Harsh Reality
Like many, I have wondered what it is like to be inside the room when the biggest Marvel moves are announced.
And this morning on, Saturday September 10, 2022. I finally have that chance.
Today, the morning started off with us beginning to line up around 4am. Now before I continue, it is important to note in this experience, that lining up is supposedly prohibited prior to the event.
Now, you’re probably wondering, will we make it inside the hall after all of that hassle? Obviously we won’t be.
Rather than offering insight into the hall or the D23 experience in general. I am typing this out, as I look at all those fortunate enough to even make it into the standby line. However, still keep in my mind, “stand by” does not guarantee access.
To make it inside the hall for the Marvel presentations, people began lining up at around midnight.
When we arrived to the Convention center at 4am, we had already missed our chances for access to the Marvel presentation slated to start at 10 am.
So far, this convention center is filled with lines. The virtual que’s that should allow for attendees to shop, filled up within a millisecond of opening at 4:30 this morning.
Now if you are the type that does not mind staying in line for hours to not possibly get to see the biggest event of the day, then this story is not for you.
But if you are the person who would be enraged after spending a good amount of money and likes to the hear the cold truth about these events, you’re in the right place.
Now I am not ranting to say D23 is pointless. I think it can be a great experience if you have reserved seating for inside the presentations you wish to see.
But if you are a ticket holder that does not hold reservations, just know that the event could potentially be an upset. The lines are chaotic to say the least. There is absolutely no way you can shop at each table, with the hours of lines it would take just for you to spend more of your money.
If you’re one of the one’s sad that you missed out on today’s event.
Don’t be.
D23 is lacking a couple things in this convention. These lines are making some of the most anticipated events of the day impossible to access.
Maybe i’ll add a more positive update later.
So far D23 is a con of lies.
